Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil Extraction ProcessThe production of cold-pressed sunflower oil is a purely physical process focused on maintaining low temperatures to retain nutritional quality.
Cleaning & Preparation: Sunflower seeds are cleaned using magnets and screens to remove debris, metal, and impurities.
De-hulling (Optional): The seeds may be de-hulled to remove shells, which helps improve the quality of the oil.
Grinding: De-hulled kernels (seeds) are ground into a meal using mills to increase surface area for better oil extraction.
Cold Pressing: The ground material is fed into an oil press (expeller). Unlike hot pressing, cold pressing maintains temperatures below 60°C (often under 40°C) using high mechanical pressure to squeeze out the oil.
